About Us

Exodus Lice came about out of the frustration experienced by owners John and Jill Sullivan. In a period of two years they dealt with 4 infestation in three of their school age children. Three daughters, all with long hair, were simultaneously infested with head lice. Head lice infestation is not one of those things that you put on your "list of things to do today" and comes as a bit of a shock when you come to the "we have a problem Huston" moment. In many instances, people have had head lice for about two or three weeks before they realize they have a problem. When we were confronted by our lice problem, we used home based OTC treatments, but those were less than completely effective. After the second infestation, a mobile company and a lice shop from two different companies employing two different methods were used, both of which worked. It was the frustration and challenge of these experiences that began the journey to seek training and establish Exodus Lice. It is now a family operated and managed business. We also bring to the business an understanding of your frustration and the many fears born of misinformation about head lice. Family members working in the business have firsthand personal experience with head lice due to their own children being infested at one time or another.

Treatment/Products

The primary treatment utilized by Exodus Lice is the Shepherd Method, a lice removal method developed by Katie Shepherd and utilized be her company, Lice Solutions Inc, based in West Palm Beach Florida. It is a strand by strand lice and nit inspection and removal system accompanied by thorough combing with specialized nit removal combs designed for this purpose. It employs all natural oil based and enzyme activated products that are chemical free. The Shepherd method has been shown to be among the most effective and thorough lice treatment systems being utilized today. It has been proven in recent years that many of the over the counter products containing chemicals have lost much of their effectiveness.

The ownership of Exodus Lice has been trained and certified at the Lice Solutions School in West Palm Beach and all Exodus Lice technicians have been fully trained in the process. The primary products used are Lice Logic products, which are regarded some of the best and most effective in the industry.

Pricing

Standard Treatment: $200.00: This is a standard strand by strand treatment and is based upon a time factor of approximately 2 hours and shoulder length hair. Most standard treatments average 1:30 to 2:00 hours. If treatment runs over two hours, you are billed 25.00 per 15 minute increment. Factors effecting treatment time are hair length and thickness and severity of infestation.

Modified treatment: $125.00: This is also known as a short hair treatment and is a full treatment with a maximum of 60 minutes. This is for hair not longer than the top of the ears.

There is a $200.00 minimum charge upon arrival. This will be deducted from any treatments performed. Example, if technicians arrive and a full standard treatment is needed and performed, the 200.00 minimum is not applied.

We can also, on request, supply you with the necessary items to purchase for a do it yourself home treatment.

Our technicians are all experienced through family connections and relations in interacting with individuals with Special Needs.
